those are some really nice s-10 and one great looking ps. i had a 97 s-10 zr2 with 2" body lift, 32" bfg mt and that thing was alot of fun off road. wish i could go for a ride in one of yours. if you own a shop you can try a diy muffler delete and see if that helps with egt.
I won't say a word... I was planning on leaving my exhaust the way it is and get the modded 17* HPOP and then PHP tunes. Then later down the road I will upgrade to 4" exhaust.
Yeah, I was planning to do a full exhaust at RRE this year, but the funds are having to be re-distributed due to some unexpected needs. I am planning to either straight-pipe or do the BTM real soon until I have the extra $300+ for a full exhaust. How do you like to sound of the BTM, particularly towing?
It "could" flow 500hp, but things get hot, quickly! The stock exhaust has a 3" down pipe to 3.5" pipe to the tailpipe.
You could drop your EGT's 100-200* with a full 4" exhaust. You want the truck to breath, and you already have the 6637, so a bigger exhaust be a nice compliment to where you're trying to go, especially when getting custom tunes! It'll allow you to run it a little harder and stay into it a little longer. Another step would be a bigger IC. I haven't gotten there yet, but hope to get one soon.......
X2
My towing EGT's dropped a good 100 degrees after installing the 4" exhaust and almost 200 after the big DI intercooler.
Had a similar experience as Dan when running the Predator tow Program....higher EGT's. A custom chip definitely be an improvement in power and lower EGT's.

I really like the BTM while towing. My friend has the same truck with 5" exhaust and it is super annoying!!! We towed a similar load out to CA with his truck and we were about ready to pull the 5" cannon off!! too much drone. He drove with me out to GJ this last weekend and he really liked my exhaust and how quiet it was in the high RPM range. As for the straight pipe, DONT DO IT!! I have another friend with a dully and he has a straight pipe, super loud and annoying. You can hear that guy for like 5 miles away. I would definatly to the walker BTM again.
FWIW my F550 with the factory exhaust and a BTM was just as loud and annoying as when I put the 5" exhaust on.
Except the 5" sounds better.
Deeper at idle and quieter at high RPM.
No matter what I do it's irritating to whoever is to the right of me.

i havent towed since i put the BTM on but i have noticed some drone at lower rpm's (maybe 1500). at higher rpm's it sounds great.
Yeah, I like the way your truck sounds, Jason. I am just worried about pulling my heavy 5er for long trips. Many people complain of the drone that the straight-pipe creates being more pronounced when towing heavy.
We haven't experienced any exhaust noise problem when we tow our 32' 5th wheel with the 4" MBRP turbo back exhaust. I hear more inside the cab from the air intake/turbo whistle than anything else.
Also, keep in mind that the muffler piece on some exhaust systems is reversible and you can hear more drone depending on which direction the louvers are facing.
