Bully Dog GT tuner

Well I am new to the forum AND new to diesel trucks. I picked up a 99 ford f250 and I had couple things repaired at the shop to get it in good running order and I also had a bully dog triple dog gt tuner put in. I am playing with all the settings and the economy coach and all that.

But I am curious if there is way to change the fuel setting to pour out the black smoke? I know it is just unburnt fuel and a waste of money but my dad loves it and so do the kids ! Anyone have this tuner and know how to mess with the settings to do this? I tried looking online on bully dog site but cant find much.

Thanks for any help. Have a good one.

You are not going to find this answer on there site because it is BAD for the environment and you will not find the the answer to your question here either. Doing this rolling coal as it is called just gives everyone with a diesel a bad name and makes all of us look like irresponsible idiots! And a Bully dog is an entry level programmer at best.

This is like entering a Catholic church and screaming "Where's the booze and the broads?!"

All you need is a plastic bag and put it over your air filter. Turn the chip all the way up and put your foot to the floor wherever you go. Plenty of black smoke

Welcome to FTE! As you can see, you won't find any support on here to guide you in the search of black smoke. You will find a group of great people willing to help you with any issues that may arise with your truck though! And that's what it's all about, good folks helping other good folks have a great time with an awesome vehicle.

Because too many of the "younger crowd" do it *****-nilly. It's equated with irresponsible, immature teens who do it to annoy other drivers or pedestrians. It's like the young kid who rolls through the neighborhood with their 4 12" subs, thumping bass from their stereo system, setting off car alarms at 1am in the morning.

No courtesy.

On other vehicle forums, you'll find dedicated threads and topics for rolling smoke. They don't take into consideration (or they don't care) how bad it makes enthusiasts look, especially because the government has gotten involved and a lot of states are now requiring smog checks on diesel vehicles.

That being said, you'll find that even we here on this forum will sometimes have episodes of copious amounts of black smoke escaping from our tailpipes. But we don't actively seek ways to make it happen.

The last few years it has become a very frowned upon action.

Another thing about black smoke... it's not only a waste of fuel, it's a heat generator. One thing we 7.3ers really don't want to do is habitually crank up the thermostat on our engines. It's not that the 7.3L is any more susceptible to the effects of heat than any other diesel... it's about love. We love our venerable 7.3L and the things we can do with our rigs. With that, our focus here is MPG, clean power, smooth operation, and big odometer readings... really big.

It really depends on the situation, on public roads and in cities most of us want our rigs to look clean and efficient of course there are times when you need to show those 4 banger guys who's in charge. (;

Have fun off-road and at the strip, if you get a smoke tune. Watch your gauges and enjoy, we as enthusiasts just ask for it not to be used on the streets

Nah... I'm just echoing the tone of what I read here. I have bigger power than most, and less than many others... but I still focus on longevity and clean burning. There's no way I can run my race tune and burn clean... but my tuning guy and I have done all that can be done to keep contrail out the coal corridor to just a haze.
