I have a 2006 F-150 and I am having a problem with the electric window switches on both the driver and pasenger sides. At time i cannot roll the window up at all. No matter how many times i push them. I let it sit a bit and then it will work. A buddy of mine from work has the same model and year and had to replace his driver side switches. Has this been a problem for this model year? Also is there a way to repair these switches with out replacing the board?
This is a problem all 04-08's have. It's an issue with the contacts in the switch. You can remove the switch and take it apart to clean up the contacts. Use the search function to find some threads on this topic that show you photo's. But cleaning up the contacts is a temporary fix. Eventually you will need to replace the switch assembly.
I have an 05 that had same problem.Easy fix.Remove switch panel form door. You will see there are 2 wire leads that have been wrapped together from the factory.Unwrap and seperate both lead and re position the wires into opening to release the pressure to the plug. The leads when wrapped from the factory end up pulling on the plug on an angle which makes a bad contact.
does that hold true if the lights in the driverside switch isn't working also? they will work sometimes and then sometimes not? is it a contact problem also?
I had that same problem on my 06. Cleaned the contacts once. That lasted for a short time. I replaced the switch and the problem is solved for over a year now. Parts guy at the dealership I patronize says it's a known problem, so most dealerships stock them.

Jeeze, sure coulda used this info around 2 yrs ago.
This prob does seem endemic to many Fomoco products, & I actually ended-up junking one such switch-victim example. It had a handful of other irritating minor probs as well, so no heartburn generated.
I also have a passenger side switch problem. My dealer parts guy looked it up and it cost as much as the driver side. Go figure. I might switch it with one of the rear ones.
