4" exhaust

My boss has a 6.4 and was wondering if he can remove the stock exhaust and put in an aftermaket 4" exhaust like my 7.3? If so what do you all recomend and if not what kind of mods have people done to there factory exhaust? Thanks for the help.

The only part of the exhaust you can remove without requiring a tuner is from the DPF back. So if your boss does not want to put a tuner on the truck, I don't think I would even bother with the exhaust.

If you go with a full exhaust kit, you will need proper tuning or it will go into permanent regen mode, no good. Spartan, H&S, SCT, Superchips Racing, and Edge all have solutions available. Check our site for more info, pricing, etc.

Banks sells a DPF back single or dual exhaust.

Ok... I am still confused here. I was under the impression that the stock exhaust diameter was 4". Please can someone verify this? Thanks!

And Brooks,
If you do decide to tune the truck and run an exhaust, I suggest first looking at just doing the DPF and Cat delete (the rest stock). By doing that I was able to get a great increase in exhaust volume, and overall sound quality. After I did the A
FE intake and the 4" downpipe the exhaust note became even more pronounced.

Stock exhaust is 3.5 inch.
