Wow. Just had a weekend driving with new U-joints. I guess I had not really realized how bad it had gotten. Now I get an incredibly smooth launch when I release the clutch on acceleration. I don't have to gun the engine to avoid vibration...and it may be my imagination, but it sure seems like I don't lose power at 70mph going uphill anymore. Is it really possible to lose that much power due to friction in the U-joints? If so, I'll bet I gain a bit in MPGs as well...
