9 inch rear end
i am lookin at buyin a 79 f150 4x4 that has a busted rear end, my brother in law has a 76 4x2 that he said i got have the rear end out of, the thirhd member housings are the same, can the axle splines still be different?

They could be either 28 or 31 spline axles. If the spline count is different grab the axles too.

well i wasnt sure if the axles would be the same comin from a 2 to a 4 wheel drive, but plans changed and i got a 76 model. that had a good rear end, haha. thanks tho
