Well, finally bit the bullet and bought a set of Rancho 9000x's. What a difference. I played around with the 9 different settings and decided to leave them on setting 1. They ride soooo smooth. Total time to put them on less that 45 min.
Sounds great ! Did you do front and back ? Where did you buy them ? Did you shop around ? My son gave me a Summit gift card for X-mas I havn't used yet. I'm think about getting the Rancho's from them.
The best place I found on the internet is www.samsoffroad.com. I put the 9000x's on the front and back of my SD, and I love them..
They are alot better than the stock shocks when empty, by you see the biggest difference when pulling or hauling anything, and you adjust them up to 5 or higher.
Yes, i did install them on the front and rear, and it made a very noticable difference in the ride quality. I purchased them from a 4 wheel shop in town....i ended up paying 330 for the set of 4.
From: I'm lost somewhere in NJ -- can someone please find me?!?!?!?
Rancho 9000x's installed
Paying an extra $50 for a approx. $300 product to get it locally isn't too bad. At least you got the benefit of "want it NOW, got it NOW" service. Besides, I just found them for $267 with shipping by just searching on the net for 2 minutes. If you look hard enough and wait long enough, you can always find it somewhere else for a few dollars less. The advantage isn't saving a few dollars, but in getting what you want, when you want, from a reputable place.
Hey no sweat Bryan... I try hard not to call friends purchases dumd after they already did it... I also try to pass on what I think are deals whenever I can... But if a friend buys a CHEVY you just gotta dog the poop outa him and bust him out in public
I mailed ordered mine a few years ago for my 2000 F350. They are the older 5 position ones. I consider them a requirement for camper hauling! The reduction in sway is dramatic.
They have a lifetime warranty, which is where the local buying comes in handy. If I have one fail, I'll have to send it in to Rancho and wait for a new one. If I had paid more and bought them local, then I could go back to the dealer and get a new shock and let him deal with returning it to Rancho. So the question is, what's good customer service worth to you?
Occasionally Rancho has a buy 3 get one free deal. I did this last summer and got a great deal. Summit had the RS9000s for about $55 each, which I think was a price error on their part.
Anyway, if you don't need them right now you can wait and keep your eye out for a deal.
