Have a 2000 2Wd Superduty. I was wondering what everyone's experince has been with headers. My truck currently has a flowmaster muffler on it, and i was thinking about a set of header. Any suggestions? Pro vs. Cons of different brands? What should I expect to pay?
Banks and Borla are the preferred headrs for the V-10. The Banks will run well over $1,000.00. The Borla's can be found for around $650.00. Try http://www.centuryperformance.com/default.asp
For the Borla's. For the Banks products you must go to one of their dealers.
I have the Banks headers on my V 10. 3 years and 50,000 miles later they still are perfect. I went with Banks because of their reputation and the fact that theirs is a 5 into 1 header. Some of the other manufacturers use a 4 into 1 plus 1 single pipe.
I've got about 50k on my Borlas and no problems yet. Banks is the best you can buy. Borla is second. Either one is a great mod and well worth it. Check out Stan's web page for info on the Borla install. http://www.eurekaboy.com/f250/borla.htm
This place in Yuma quoted me $1500 for the complete power pack. Headers alone would be less.
It shouldn't take more than a day for you and a couple buddys to install the headers. Lemmie know if you need any help.
