I have 10 qts of SP left from the 5R110 TS from my old 6.0L diesel, I read in the 150's owners manual that the 6R80 in the new truck takes the LV. I know they are interchangeable- able to be mixed- in the 5R110 TS but how about the 6R80? If not I can sell the 10 qts to my buddy that is buying all the extra filters and what not from the 6.0L. Tex? Anybody confirm/deny this? Thanks- Tim
Per the owner's manual:
Ford part name or equivalent: Motorcraft MERCON LV ATF8
Ford part number / Ford specification: XT-10-QLV /MERCON LV
Automatic transmissions that require MERCON LV should only use MERCON LV fluid. Refer to scheduled maintenance information to determine the correct service interval. Use of any fluid other than the recommended fluid may cause transmission damage.
In other words, I wouldn't put it in my tranny. Just my $.02.
Right, I read that- but LV replaces SP and CAN be mixed in the Torqshift. Maybe I just need to stop by the dealer and ask the service mgr. Maybe he'll be one of the good ones and be able to answer me Thanks for the reply!
"Transmission fluid that is used in this transmission is not interchangeable at this time with any other transmission fluids. Check the transmission fluid level indicator to determine the correct transmission fluid and refer to the Workshop Information/Owner's Literature to determine the correct service interval for the specific vehicle."
