E4OD weak link

Like stated above. Stock torque converters fail often but it could be due to the stock tranny killer(cooler). So there are two weak links for ya. Get you a 6.0 trans cooler or an aftermarket. The stock TC has a drain plug which is nice but not worth the trouble of the TC itself. Brian's Truck Shop is commonly hailed as the best there is for anything E4OD. I don't know how necessary it is but you can put on a larger pan if 16-18 qts isn't enough for ya. If you have it off of the truck then mod the crap out of it now so you don't have to later. One of my favorite very simple auto tranny mods----drain plug.

Well I am going to be taking the cab off the High Boy and then be starting into the fitting engine and tranny to it, but since I will have good full access to it I want to look it over. I want to do the rebuild myself. I was wondering if anyone knew off a good rebuild kit that would last me and my power hungry addiction.

the aluminum planetary and the aluminum clutch sprag.
replace those the with the good ford steel ones or billet aftermarkets like ones from john wood, bts, or racerx. Oh yeah and put a new flex plate in while you have it out, the centers break out of them too
Get the atsg ? full service manual from racerx, it is actually not that bad, just read though the manual first, take your time, setup an area where you can spread out and keep things clean there are only a couple of special tools needed too
