Edge + DP tuner

I have a question, and it is only out of curiosity. I don't have the money for this, but I'm looking down the road and trying to figure out what I want to do with my truck.

I have am Edge Juice w/Attitude AND an Edge Evolution. The Juice chip hooks up to various sensors around the truck and is the one I adjust for tuning. The Evolution hooks up to the OBD-II port in the cab and I use only as a monitor. As a result I'm able to watch 8 different parameters at once. The Juice came with the truck but I wanted more out of my chip, and the evolution was designed to be stacked with the juice so....

I'm not slamming the Edge at all, but I feel like I want a DP tuner instead. I sounds like a better fit for me. So here comes the question.

If I leave both of my edges on my truck and use them ONLY as gauges would I be safe getting a DP? I'm sure there is some program in either one of them that will screw up the other, and I know it would be better to take the edges off, but I don't want to have to spend a ton of money for a good set of gauges and I'm kinda lazy like that. Again, this is hypothetical, I'm not actually planning on doing this for a long while(my truck has some major issues to be fixed first) I was just curious

Thanks in advance.

As long as you have your Edge module and Evolution in the stock settings....

RUN IT!!

Well in all actuality, you can have your Evolution in whatever setting you want since once the DP-Tuner chip is plugged in, the programming on the PCM doesn't matter.

Just don't try to reprogram the PCM with the chip hanging off the back of it.

I am running that set up right now and have no probs but my edge is on stock. Just my .02, dont just trust the edge gauges as mine are off ie my boost is way off so i would also get a good set of autometer gauges.

I'm not hatin...... but I ditched my Edge after having similar problems (stock setting) and only using it for gauges. I found the guage readings not accurate and just didn't trust it. Since taking it out I haven't had a problem and the truck seems happier.

Also you will be way happier with the dp tuner and your truck will love it too, mine did just the way dp shifts feels so much better for the trans.
