Coach John Wooden passed away yesterday at 99 years of age.
There are no words, though the media will try. I did not know that he disliked the "Wizard of Westwood" moniker until I read the above link (though it doesn't surprise me), so I'm done using it. Many, many people would do well to follow his example and learn from his life teachings.
One of the amazing things about this very accomplished coach and incredible human is that he impacted all athletes from all sports. UCLA's woman's softball team(s) have all benefited from him and he was a basketball coach.
