Pulling out the dash?

I was going to pull out my the smaller part of my dash around the steering wheel so that I can finally mount my DP switch and maybe even get behind the cluster and replace all my bulbs that are out. Does it just yank out or are their screws im not seeing?

Thanks guys!

dash face

you can grab it just above the cluster and give it a sharp pull, I have done it a few times and it got easier after the first few times.

If you're trying to pull the dash that surrounds the instrument cluster, it goes all the way over to the radio. It's easier if you pull the radio out first. I like to pull the head light switch out first (notice the flat spot below the switch you can fit a screwdriver in). The headlight switch just pulls out after you pry it loose. Unplug the wires to get it out of the way, and now you've got a good place to grab and start removing the dash. Give it a tug straight out. It's just plastic clips that hold it in place. Work your way around and you'll unsnap them all.

You'll need to unplug the 4x4 switch (if esof), the spare cigarette lighter, and the wires for the air bag off switch (the wires are still there on a crew cab even though we don't have the switch). Set the dash aside and it's just a couple of screws holding in the instrument cluster.

Thanks guys, I ended up spending the day on my 4x4 system yesterday and hopefully next weekend I can tackle this project. Love this forum!

I had 2 screws holding mine on by the radio. Once the radio is out, there are 2 right at the top, all you have to do is lossen them, the plastic is slotted.

But other than that, it just pops out

You beat me to it.
There are two screws directly above the radio that hold the dash trim in.
You have to pull the radio to remove the screws, then the whole thing pops out.
