Towing my 28ft toy hauler to Utah for Memorial my od light started flashing about 4 hours into the trip. Stopped, turned the truck off, started it, no more flashing. On the way home same thing except it started flashing sooner and would only stay off a short amount of time after restarting it.
Ive been running around town now for about 200 miles unloaded and no flashing od light but it feels like its searchig for the right gear at times and just the right rpm.
Are the codes in the computer if the lights not flashing?
Any members got a scanner in the Denver area?
I don't have a scanner, but mine did the same thing a few months after I bough it. For me, it was a failed/failing VSS sensor on top of the rear differential. It took about 10 minutes to replace and has been working great ever since (and that was 3+ years ago).
I dont remember his FTE name but I emailed one of the long time members with a link to this thread. He is in the Parker area and has the AE program. (I think thats what its called).
Does your speedo act funny also? As in not show any reading until you hit about 40MPH? That is also an indication that your VSS on the rear pumpkin is bad.
Sorry, don't have an AE. Andrew (87 F150 I6) has one but he hasn't been on FTE for a while. He's been working lots of hours. I'll try to reach him.
