hey guys a while back i blew out the trans and t case in my 97 PS.

now i want to buy a reman zf5 and a used transfer case from a junk yard.

my first question is where is a good place to get a fair priced reman tranny?
i was looking at this place.

and also what were the years of the diesel t-cases that could be used in my truck?

and what was the stock t-case that came in these trucks? was it the borg warrner 4407?

T-Case is a Borg-Warner 1356 IIRC

 

I'm thinking '97 was 4407, early versions like '95 were 1356.
??

 

Looks like I got my years mixed up.

 

That is a pretty good price for the ZF. Around here the wreckers want that for a used one. If the yoke on the rear of the transfer case is a slip joint it is a 1356. My 97 has a fixed flange that the u-joint bolts to, and it is the 4407 I think.

 

yup did a few searchs i have the bw 4407.
ya i think im going to order up that tranny on monday and see where i get from there
any other advice you guys can give me?

lol ill have to take better pics. there is a crack running all the way to the bell housing.

Most places won't take a cracked case as your core.

 

ill just find all the pices and glue it together so they take it haha.
