Have any of you pulled a motor and torn it apart? I am going to pull the 351 out of my truck this summer/fall at the latest and replace the rod bearings. I am never done this but I have a couple of friends who are gearheads. Anyone have any tips?
In that case, take photos with a decent camera with flash and zoom. It'll help with reinstalling all that stuff.....download photos while you still remember - where and what they are - and label them.

Rezvani's Latest Post-Apocalyptic Monster Is a Ford F-150 Raptor Underneath
Bud hit the nail on the head. I did it once in a Monte Carlo that I owned along with a friend that is a mechanic. We rebuilt a 400 small block and installed it in place of the 229 V-6 that spun several bearings.
Well, got the dining room table itself all sanded and stained. I also got the 1st coat of poly on it.....Looks pretty good. The second coat (at 5PM or so) will REALLY make it look great. The 3rd - tomorrow morning - will be the hardening, protective coat. Then I need to let it sit, untouched, for 48 hours to harden. Should be ready for use on Monday in time for dinner. Photos to follow when it is done.
