No Throttle response in gear

2005 F250 6.0 - 4X4 103000 miles
Having rough starting with black smoke. Checked FICM: 48 volts key on engine off, 22 volts under start. Pulled FICM and got power module re-soldered by electronics professional. Reassembled and reinstalled. Checked again:" 48 volts key on engine off, 48 volts under starting. I was very optomistic....
However, it took forever to start. Once started - I get not throttle response in gear. Put it in reverse will not back up. Pushed it to get it rolling and would only go about 5 mph with the pedal to the floor.
Any ideas besides a tow truck?

Mine just started the same problem this week. '04 with 97,000 miles.
Driving from VA to NY it started in the stop & go traffic around DC. After creeping along it woundn't rev up past 1000. Shift to neutral and it reved ok. Just when I though I'd have to pull over things started working again.
This happened about 5 times in 30 minutes. Made it back to VA today. Is this a computer problem or fly by wire sensor?. Have an appointment Tues. with Ford service.

I did the best I could to get my hand back under there and push up on the e connectors. They seem to be all the way in.

My 05 f250 6.0 with 101,900 miles had the same no pedal issue. Just got it back from the dealer. Here's what fixed mine.

Had code P0299 stuck turbo, cleaned turbo and replaced unison ring, covered under extended warrenty.

Now the good stuff, found shorts in engine harness replaced with 5C3Z-12B637-AA $763.55, injector harness 4C3Z-9C891-B $236.50, bad glow plug module YC3Z-12B533-AA $230.89 and a tube assembly 6C3Z-9T515-A $30.32, so $1261.26 in parts and $1133.60 in labor for a grand total of $2594.60 including taxes and shop supplies.

I bought the truck with 98,000 miles and was happy with how it ran, now I'm REALLY happy how it runs now!! Not happy on the unexpected bill though.

You really know how to cheer a guy up! I just hope there is a way to verify what is wrong and that I can do some of it.

Finally got appropriate code reader. Engine was throwing NO codes! Somehow got it started and hopped it to the dealer. FICM was bad. Fixed and running great again. Wish I could have known but with no codes I was stuck.

Got it home and put on the Dieselsite coolant filter. Hopefully that'll help extend the life of several components. Easy install, even for a musician!
