Hey all, my wife and I just bought a 1955 F100, it has no motor or box, we want to stay with standard, so we are looking for a Y block and gearbox......so, if anyone has a spare, or wants to sell one, let me know....we are not in a hurry either. We would prefer a 239 or 272, 292 at the outside.
The tricky part, we are in New Zealand....but we can arrange freight.
We are also looking for good contacts to help us with our restoration....any offers of help would be appreciated.
Let me say up front, we don't want anything for nothing, just advice and help.
Cheers,
Shane
Charlie is correct, there are some Y-Blokes in Australia and New Zealand. May I suggest that you stay away from the 239" (unless you have your heart set one one) because it is hard to find parts for even in the States so I can't imagine what it would be like in NZ. Also there are two different 239's that have parts that don't interchange.
Besides externally they all look the same. I would give you the URL's of other sites to ask for help but I have been told that the FTE FORUM POLICE will come down on me. (so don't click on the blue letters below).
