Hi after a little help, would anybody have a photo or picture of the original clips that would have been used to secure the front grill bars to the sheet metal and also the hood side spars and centre trim on what we call a Jailbar pickup down here in New Zealand.
Thanks for any assistance.
Most of mine broke off, so I made new ones. From memory they were mostly 1/8" thick steel strap, 7/8" x 1" with a #10-24 stud welded in the center. I drilled a hole in the middle and welded a bolt on the back side for the stud. Mine were fairly crude, but worked nicely.
I'll dig mine out from somewhere, and try to take pic. They were little flat steel with slight curve that fit each end. Mine had baby carriage bolts that I popped the broke ones out with a hammer.
I tried to post some photos, but said I had reached my limit. Will post elsewhere, and try to link it to a build. She kind of on hold, found major hidden house repairs, so have been on that. Sorry if I jacked this post a little. So until I fix photo problem, can't post the clip photos.
The bigger one (left one) is for the bigger bars in the centre, the smaller one are for the rest of the grill bars.
The big one is 7/8" (23mm) long and wide, and it is 3/8" (8mm) high.
The small one is 7/8" (23mm) long and 5/8" (15.5mm) wide.
Both have 3/16 unf studs which is 5/8" long.
