I feel bad, mine looks like crap compared to all of yours.... Dents, dings, mismatched paint, terrible carpets inside...

Someday I'll be able to put a real paint job on it. Upgrading the interior (nicer seats, etc) comes first though. I can deal with the outside looking like crap.

Not to worry Brownie. Mine's got a few large dents and is ALWAYS dirty. (too much dirt/gravel in life to ever keep it clean) Some nice big scratches in the paint and spider cracking on both the dually flares. I'd rather have it running good than looking good. Besides, aren't these supposed to be work trucks?

Hey doug, what size Super Swampers do you have on your truck? How do they ride and how fast are they wearing?

Brownie they are 32" witch comes out to be about 1 inch taller then stock. They are like new still and i'v put 4,000 miles on them. I'm not sure how many mile where on them when bought about 3 months ago. They are great in the woods. Make the truck look mean. I'll get the size off them tomorrow!

I really like the shade of red on plgebbia's dad's old truck. The rims really set it off, too. Very sharp.

Doug, I live just outside of Mt. Holly.

For the stacks, I was thinking of a bevel/flare end, possibly with a heat-proof packing to help seal them up, although I'm not overly concerned with air-tightness. The upper stacks would be fixed to the bed floor and the stack feeds would be fastened to the frame, possibly with rubber hangers so the system's not too rigid.

I'm hoping for this year to take care of some TLC items, like fixing the last power window motor. I could buy a new one, but I like tinkering so I take them apart and clean them out and re-lubricate them, unless the armature is burned out. In that case, I just toss them or turn them in for the core. When I'm fixing power windows, I often find that the problem is more often a bound-up regulator than the motor being burned out. Some cleaning and lubrication goes a long way. It really boils down to being a routine maintenance item.

I have some other TLC items to take care of as well. The clear-coat is virtually gone from the hood and roof. There's a rust spot on the cab bottom that needs to be fixed, and a couple of minor spots elsewhere. The driver-side fender flare has a hole in it where it looks like a good-size rock hit it hard, then there's spider cracks over them too. I may make a sheet of fiberglass matting that I'll glue in about an inch from the inside of the flare top. That will become the sacrificial fiberglass for taking the rock hits from the tires. I'm also planning on fuel hoses and injector seals this year. It has a number of problems you'd expect for a 15-year old truck with 232,000 miles on it.

I've never seen a lengthened bed, but I did have the crazy idea last year of lengthening mine to 10'. I think I'll Photoshop it first to see how it would look. It might end up looking goofy and disproportional, and I have a feeling it will. It's just an idea, anyway, I don't have any serious aspirations to actually do it.

I wouldn't mind a 4WD conversion at some point and I'd like it if it rode a little higher. If I ever get back to western PA, I'll definitely need the 4WD. In the meantime, a locking differential would help a lot.

Well, I've rambled long enough. I'm really enjoying seeing the trucks that are being posted. Some really sharp looking machines on here.

Well those arent bad TLC issues! I am sure we all have seen worse! That pipe/dump bed idea was what I was guessing, LOL! When you get to tearing down that back window regulator, let me know, I may need some info! And when you decide to go with the 4-wheel drive add on and need any help or tips, hit me up! I just completed mine not too long ago!

How do they handle with highway speeds? I am curious about the life of them as well!

I have ran the pa turnpike doing 75 to 80 with no problems. They do hum alot but the again I drive a diesel. So if I wanted quiet I would have got a nice car. I think I will see 40,000 out of them. They are laod range E tires too.

That's good for swampers. I know the boggers wear down FAST.

I had some TSL 36x14.50's on my '81 bronco before and they were great offroad. Just wasn't sure if they would hold up to the weight of the diesel on them.

Matts156,
You might consider using truck bed liner in the spray can or the roll on type to line your dually fenders. It's pretty tough stuff if you put on several coats.

I would like to hear about your window regulator repairs as well. I have one that I have to leave up all the time.

If you photo chop that 10' bed I would like to see what it looks like. I have seen one on the road that was sort of like I described previously. They had installed a dually bed on a longer cab a chassis that left an open space of about two or three feet between the back of the cab and the front of the bed. That area was filled with diamond aluminum skid plate that had been contoured to match the shape of the side of the bed. It was probably a huge fuel tank but I haven't seen it standing still to check it out further. The extra length actually looked pretty good but it would have looked better to me if he had made it from the front of another bed.

No the grille is factory color. I actually want to pull it and paint it black along with all the remaining chrome on the truck. Probably won't happen until I figure out a bumper solution. Thinkin the BroncoAir bumper would be sweet.

I used some hardened rubberized coating on mine, I then cut down and placed some wheel well inserts from the front of another truck into the wells of my dually fenders.
