Or do all broncos have a REALLY stiff suspension? I feel EVER tiny bump on the road! I am sick of not being able to play CDs and I want a softer suspension. Is there anything I can do? is there somewhere I can get new springs for the front, or is this a shock problem?
Mine is pretty damn stiff as well.
Between my rough country shocks and 33" Wild country EXTs it feels every pebble. The nice thing is though, I get almost no body lean in a corner. It drives like it is on rails.
My solution was to buy a CD player with a 10 second anti-shock memory.
I was considering buying a kidney belt to help with mine after I put on a set of Rancho RS5000's. I was very surprised when my BFG All-Terrains wore out and I put on a set of Michelins how much the ride improved. It was quite dramatic.
That's not a spring or shock problem. The problem is you probably have after-market shocks that are set to be stiff. If the shocks or springs had a problem, the ride woul dbe so soft you would bounce 20 times if you move in your seat!!!
An older set of springs will more likely be "mushy" than stiff. If they are new or the truck has been lifted via new springs, then you may be looking at a spring-related concern. If none of these things have been implemented, I would lean towards shocks or just worn suspension components. Worn bushings or dying shocks can have the effect of amplifying potholes, bumps etc..
My 90 has stock type shocks as far as I can tell, I have an el- cheapo 10 disc cd changer mounted in the console, basically screwed to the floor, and it does not skip.
