Has he tried 5w40 synthetic? If not, there's just too many variations within our PSD's to pinpoint the cause. What worked for me has shown no change in others.

No he runs chevron 15w4o. It seems like an expensive fix to switch to synthetic. Is the romps bad for the truck or just annoying?

I keep my truck inside a garage.. and it never gets below 55* and when i was using 15W40 oil, it romped after starting... (did this since the truck was new) ..I switched after 8 years, to Rotella syn 5w40 and I have never had a romp since..

I've ONLY romped on Delo. I dumped it early and I'll never run it again.....

At one time my truck would romp with rotella synthetic with lows in the 80s

Well, mine never romped on dino or syn Rotella in the teens/20s, but did on Delo in the 40s. Go figger.

Some truck don't romp on dino.A friend has an '02 that don't romp at all on dino
I have no idea if mine will romp on dino now and will probly never know
