Dont let these guys push you into the cummins. We just need to find the cork thats keepin the IDI down and we'll make just as much power. Besides that, I think the IDI has more character. Build your IDI.
I do have to admit the staight six Nissan in my buddy's UD cabover rollback is pretty sweet. However parts are starting to be a down fall, it took 4 weeks to get a starter for it.
ya, i had one in my international scout. gutless engine, expensive to get parts for and only one shop in the near 250 miles knew how to work on it lol.
im lookin at
rebuild (2500)
moose ip (1000)
moose injectors (950) iirc
ceramic coated pistons (300)
new fuel pump, starter, gp's, thermostat, water pump, oil cooler rebuild (500)
powder coat everything i can (300)
port match the heads (500)
reground cam (220)
of course prices are +/- but around about.....
I'm not trying to be an ***, just saying it might be more cost effective to drop in a cummins. Are you going to steer clear of that cam and just have yours ground? Does a rebuild typically run $2500?
its 1000 to have them rebuild my pump to the moose specs. you supply your own pump
ive got prices from 2500-6000 for a general rebuild. and NO CUMMINS!!!! your wasting your time typing the words cummins cause i'll never install one in my truck
To bad they had to put such a great engine like a Cummins in such crappy trucks
dodge is a good truck, just the worse seats in the world. atleast they didnt waste the engine on a crappy ifs truck like the chevy. i love the trucks, had a million of them, HATE the ifs
im only keeping the engine out of it.. this thing is plumbed where the air box sucks air from next to the radiator... i might have to snag that piece for my baby lol....
