Need Towing Mirrors

I just purchased a 2004 F250 Lariat 6.0 Diesel, and I need some towing mirrors for my 5th wheel. Unfortunately, I do not know where to start, really.

PartsTrain.com - Hard to Find Auto Parts and Truck Parts -

I saw those and those seem like they would work. Question is will they be klunky?

Also, how do I know if I will even benefit from heated mirrors or blinkers on my mirrors when I currently don't have that feature now? Or, does me not having that feature now mean they won't work on the new mirror?

I need a place to start. I do know I want the mirrors with two mirrors per side, one one top, and one on bottom. Will the top one be electric and bottom be manual?

Are there different connections I need to be aware of to get the right mirror?

Thanks and any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!

The best place to start is by searching this forum. Lots of people have replaced their paddle style mirrors with the elephant ear style tow mirrors. The consensus is that the 2008 tow mirrors are much better than the pre 2008 tow mirrors, but they are not cheap.

A great resource is the "tech folder" which can be found at the top of the superduty section. I found these in there:

Mirror swap (installing newer mirrors with heat/lights onto older trucks)

Mirror swap (installing '08+ mirrors on pre-08 trucks)

Those write-ups already helped me. I do not have blinkers or heated mirrors, nor do I care to have them unless it was easy to install. It sounded like some modifications were needed to have those options installed, which I don't care to do.

So, I am just looking for a regular mirror like the one I linked, and they must sustain the electric functionality.

That being said with my new knowledge, are the ones I linked ok? The site I found them from says they will work with an 04 f250 lariat, but do you think they will?

what would be my other options for ease of installation? Basically want this:

Telescope
dual mirrors, big mirror electrical
ease of installation, aka, can install right out of the box without ordering extra parts
Would like to keep under 100 dollars per mirror if possible, but if they are junk, then will spend more.

The mirrors you posted up look like they have all of these features. I can all but assure you that the installation is a bolt on process, and being OEM style should have all of the features included.

Welcome to the forums!
Yup, those appear to be pre-08 OEM style mirrors. Just call PT and ask them if they are a direct replacement, and that they will wire directly into your truck (plug and play) for the power, and you should be set.
The turn siggies are nice, but not all together necessary. Same with the heaters. I have used them a few times in the winter, other than that they are not needed for anything. if it does not get too cold where you live, then you do not need them.
Believe it or not, the elephant ears are not all that cumbersome. I usually don't even bother with pushing them in when not towing. I like the look of them extended, and hate to have to keep adjusting them all the time when I move them in or out. Never had a single issue. Plus, they do fold back, just in case. All in all, looks to be a decent deal on them.

Awesome, thanks for all of your help, I'll just go ahead and purchase those and see how it works out!

And yes, I like them extended also, but I wasn't sure about the whole garage situation, or if it will even fit in there now.

I installed the mirrors yesterday and they work great! Easy installation also.

The mirrors are definately heavy duty when feeling them. The quality seems excellent so far.

Good to hear they worked out.

I REALLY like my mirrors. For the summer, I just pull the fuse out so the heaters don't come on.
