Those are indeed the correct brackets. If I were you I would do the best I could to grind those booger welds down and save those brackets. They are exceptionally rare.

These were also an option on the '79 official Pace Trucks.

You can put money on the fact that I will be surgically removing both sets of brackets from the push bar. I will only be re-installing one set in the correct "4X4" configuration. Who knows what I will do with the other set... but only time will see!

So you don't confuse anyone including yourself that is not a factory grille guard

That push bar or grille guard or whatever you want to call it is not a stock Ford bar.

Are you sure...?
I've seen so many of them in Pictures of these trucks, Look at the Pictures I posted.
It may have been a Dealer add on Item, or some funky '70s thing some other previous owner did, My truck isn't a good example, Because it has a swapped in 390.
(Although, Other than The Steerin' Wheel, Which I Hate, It's 98% Original)

Found them @JBG

Well my 1st one cost $30 with the bumper off a 79 Bronco in a JY, bolted right on my Silver 77 had the factory light tabs bolted on.

I got Craigslist burned on the 2nd one I found in Tn (AH never mailed it, go figure). Found trucks on craigslist with them and called to see if they would sale them seperate, sometimes yes thats how I got TWO more for $20 and $30.

There is a difference in the lower mount tabs, one style is round edged and bolts right to a 79 bumper and one is square for a 77 bumper.

I got my last one for $25 (craigslist and drove a hour) and put it on ol Blue, I think Jeffs Bronco Graveyard has them item # 15010 $235 ouch, but beats a 7 year search IMO.

The Jeffs Bronco Graveyard push bar is "1966-77 Ford Bronco" only. They dont have one for the 78-79 bronco yet.

Cactus Smasher Push Bar

I have found very few of these bars in the RI area. And every craigslist truck I find will not sell the bar seperate. But I have found one, I feel pretty good about it. If I can find one more of the 78-79 bars for my other truck it will be a good year!

Absolutely not!

Overzealous FTE member posted pics of all sorts of these push bars, many of which are not Genuine Ford!

The push bar pictured on his '76 SCS is a typical example. It's a gypo! Ford didn't even offer the push bar until 1978. Of all the pics he posted, only one (2nd pic) appears to be correct.

D8TZ17996B .. Push Bar & Installation Kit / Obsolete

D8TZ17984B .. Push Bar (only) / Obsolete

Fits: 1978/79 F100/350 & Bronco.

Anthony: If I've told you this once, I've told you a 1000 times. Posting pics of obviously gypo parts just confuses people. If you aren't sure, please do not post.

You have had the following parts catalog for over a year. Isn't it about time you figured out how to use it?

1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog / GENUINE Ford push bar and attaching parts: Illustration Section 176, Page 7.

Take a look at this illustration...does the push bar look like the one on your truck, or in most of the above photos you posted?

No, it does not.

Just an FYI, that brochure came out long before you were even thought of. Trust me, it has been seen before.

As long as we are beating the push bar questions to death, I have one more question. My bar has pre drilled holes for a set of lights on the top bar and the bottom bar, But the tube that mounts to the top of the bumper on the drivers side has a hole in it as well, it also as 3 holes across the bottom bar facing the grill. These look factory to me and I assume that they are to secure the wiring harness for the lights, Is everyone elses push bars that way? I also have a hole at the bottom of the bar, that mounts to the bottom of the bumper on the passenger side, I thought that maybe for a drain. Thanks again, Jeff

So, what else is new?
He lives fairly close to me and I met him at the F100 Western Nats in 2008. I have offered to help him many times with the ins and outs of the parts catalog, but he's not interested.

He is in-famous for posting pics of obviously gypo parts on (so called) restored trucks he's found on the net. For another example, take a look at the pics he just posted of stripe kits in another thread in this forum.

I just knew when I looked at those fracatta pics, it would be vintage Anthony all over again.

I'm sorry Anthony, but you bring this criticism upon yourself.
