My local shop made a comment that my front end was loose and that I would eventually need to rework the whole front end. I have always thought my 1989 f150 handled pretty good. Can anyone clue me in on the meaning of "loose"?
Maybe a little play in the steering wheel. Mine does the same and so do all the fords my dad has had over the years. If they didnt specify anything I wouldnt sweat it.
It could be slop in the steering box or tie rod ends etc.
I have seen some of these guys tell people with older vehicles that the steering or front end is loose, because they are used to the newer vehicles that have rack and pinion etc.
There may be nothing wrong with your truck. If you think it drives fine, then it probably is ok.
