Suspension
I am doing a PSD conversion to my truck, and restoring it all at the same time. Anyways I was wondering about add a leafs for the front. Do they make add a leafs for 75 F250 High Boys? If so where could I order me a set? I am doing all the suspension and stuff, so I can use it as a DD, and do some sled pulling on the side. Also I want to put Rancho 5000 shocks all around, I already found the front ones, but there are multiple options for the rear going from 22 to 24 and I think some are even more. Mine measures from mount to mount 20, so would it matter which ones I get? ANd if it would help my truck has the factory 4 inch block in the back. I want to have good stiff suspension. No I am not going to be doing any off roading. Thanks guys much appreciated.
One huge dimension to consider is the center bolt location. This will have to be as close as possible to the factory dimension in order to prevent one end of the AAL from sticking out from either end of the pack.
Your stock 75 spring pack will support the added weight of the PSD. You might consider simply installing the engine, and then making the required spring change after you drive and work the bugs out. many PSD and cummins conversions did not require suspension mods.
Much of this has to do with the condition of the original spring. If yours are shot, this might be the time to rebuild the entire pack and not just throw in the AAL.
If the spring pack is weak, the AAL will not last long as it will not support the weight for very long, and you will eventually have to rebuild the pack anyway.
