I have a 76 F100 and am going to be replacing the front coils and adding an ad a leaf to the back suspension. I havent done this on one of these trucks before and want to know how best to go about it. The front coils are the moog cc808 and the add a leaf are part number slf-2500. If you have any input or simple pit falls to avoid would be great. I am a little worried since I have just saturday morning to do this and have to have it running by monday morning for work again. Thanks for your input in advance.
Ditto that gfw1985. Be prepared to replace one if not both upper coil retainer clips. One of mine snapped in disassembly.
The front coils are easy, save the rusty and bolts. I have not installed an ad a leaf kit but I have swapped rear leaf springs (similar).
For cheap insurance you can always buy "back up hardware" for the shocks, the leaf arms and axle u-bolts that way if you get into a fight - just cut it off and replace the bolt and nut. This wil save some time and frustration and you can return the un-used hardware another day.
When your putting the leaf in make sure you use one or two C clamps to pull the leafs together and compress the spring. Don't rely on the center bolt to pull everything together, you run the risk of stripping the bolt. Once the spring leafs are all lined up and together, then add the center bolt and torque it down.

Thanks guys. As it turned out i had to replace the shocks too as my driver side wasnt even attached. It took me about 3 hours to do it and i only had to make one trip to the auotzone by my house. Truck rides much better and doesnt wobble when going down the highway.
