I have been monitoring my truck and it is getting about 12 1/2 miles to the gallon. I was told that the 3 valve should be getting between 14 and 16. I don't really have any mods to the truck other than I cut the muffler off and am using full syn. oil, and it didn't really give me any increase. does anybody have any advice on getting better fuel economy and possibly some more hp/torque? I also have changed the fuel filter about 10,000 miles ago and also all the power train fluids.
so the cat's won't keep enough backpressure? I have to say i actualy noticed a increase in the gas miliage when i cut that off, but it droped alot after i changed the spark plugs! not sure as to why that would happen. i used the autolite one piece plugs instead of the oem motorcraft ones. i just didn't wanna go through the headach of breaking off spark plugs again!
