shock options

anyone out there have suggestions on shocks for my 94 F250 351 4x4. I was looking at Bilstein's and KYB mono tubes. I'm a mason so I haul sand and rock quite a bit, but I'm also looking for as smooth a ride as I can get on road.

Either of this will work well for you.

Most people recommend Bilsteins. I've used KYB Monomax on another vehicle and was VERY happy with them.

+1 for Bilsteins. The cost is worth the ride quality.

The truck is running some twin tube shocks that are older than dirt. The leaf springs are creaking and popping, highway speeds the thing shutters like mad. I'm guessing shocks is logical step. The front body mounts (on either side of the radiator) are warn and crusty also, would they be worth replacing?

Shutter could be from an unbalanced wheel, or a sign of worn bushings in the front end. Is the shutter in the back, of through the steering wheel?

Body mounts come in a full kit. Replace them all with polyurethane. If the sleeves are rotted out, bronco graveyard has them cheapest. 1980-96 Ford Truck/bronco - Bushings/polyurethane - Body & Hardware Truck I paid 6X more for ones from ford.

Often the steel frame mounts are rotted as well. You can weld in metal and drill a new hole, or get some from a junkyard.

Is it worth it? Does that truck make you money and do you want to keep it long term? If the answer is yes, then I would say definitely fix it.
