Not Communicating with Snap-on "Red Brick" Scanner

I've got it to work before but went to hook it up today and it wouldn't communicate. I haven't had a chance to test the scanner on something else but my superchip still communicates. I don't have the K-2 key it says to use but I have used it with the K-2a key and it worked fine. Anyone have this problem before? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
John

Being that its a Snap-On scan tool, I would get a hold of Snap-on and have them check it out! Find a tool guy and knock his door down! LOL! With as expensive as snap on is about their tools, I tend not to be too merciful with them!

The K2a key is the one you need. But if your SC communicates then there is something wrong with the scanner. Try the scanner on a Gm vehicle. The won't require a key at all. I have had the cords on the snap on scanners go bad where one wire is broken in there and it wouldn't work on a Ford but it would work on everything else.

Thanks for the info. When it did work it was touchy. It would go out when I hit a hard bump. I just figured it was the connection at the OBD2 port because it would always come back out. Ill work on trying out a new/different cable. My buddy has one but I haven't had a chance to try it out. Nice to see you back!
Thanks
John
