Lose of fuel pressure

I have a 01 f350 7.3 & when I start my truck it runs for about 30 seconds & shuts off. Then I have to turn & hold the key & hold the fuel pedal to the floor for about 15-25 seconds untill the motor starts. & it runs for about 6 seconds & shuts off. I repeat this about 15 times it seems.... Then finally it will start & idol great. But when I try to drive it looses pressure & shuts off & I have to turn & hold the key till it start again. This will happen a couple more times & then it sputters untill it can substain pressure. I've replace the fuel drain bulb, fuel filter, new frame pump, dropped & cleaned fuel tank & tank pump!! I need help! O yea fuel leaking on the top of motor & sitting in canal. Any advice please???!

How is the fuel line looking on the passenger side at the retention clip. Many have had issues with the clip rubbing a hole in the fuel line. when that line goes you will have fuel all over the place

The fuel line is a great place to start. Where and how are you measuring fuel pressure?

They have additional info on the "failure prevention thread" that goes into more detail on this clip/wear issue. It may come down to one person under the hood while you start it up and see where the fuel is leaking from unless you can get it running long enough to check yourself.

It only leaks when I drive & it's seems to be coming from the passenger line area beyond my site & the fuel puddles to towards the rear of the motor

The clip on the passenger valve cover, next to the turbo pedestal... that's your prime suspect. It's likely leaking all the time (filling the valley), but you slosh the puddle when you drive.

Remove that clip for easier diagnosis to observe. (BTH-I removed my clip permanently years ago-not needed)

Ditto. Guys, just for his information (and mine), will he need to remove the turbo and pedestal to replace that fuel line? I can't remember. I do know it is very easy to see when the fuel bowl, turbo, etc. are pulled out!!!! Ha.

^^^ No, that isn't really necessary but if you had it off anyway it would make it much easier. The only thing I moved was the passenger side CAC pipe and passenger side lifting eye. I was able to weasel my hand back in there to disconnect @ the head, and also to remove the clip to pull the line off for thorough inspection.

Doing a fuel bowl rebuild is never a bad idea, this could be done while doing the fuel line. I did my FB rebuild a couple of years back, even though nothing was leaking (yet). I was really glad I did it, those O-rings were ready to go.
