The heater fan on my '97 F150 will only run on the High setting. Is the problem in the motor or the switch? Someone also mentioned that there may be an inline resistor that could be bad. Any help is appreciated!
How did you take your dash panel out i have a ford e150 and the heater switch is stuck in low and i dont know how to remove the panel and the switch is all ready ordered and i was told there were four circuits and which ever circuit breaks wont allow you to jump to the next circuit please help if you can.
It looks as if you people are not having a whole lot of luck finding any answers here. I am moving this thread to the electrical forum where you may have better luck.
I took my pickup into a local Ford dealer and the problem is in a resistor for the heater blower. This resistor is a Ford only part and is not available at 'generic' parts stores. The part number is F4ZZ*19A706*A - about $15.00.
As far as getting the dash panel to access the fan switch - it pops right out. Get your fingernails (or other object that won't scratch the dash) behind the top of it and slowly pull it out. I did not remove the whole panel, because the right side, where the passenger air bag switch is located, did not come apart as easy. You'll have to figure that one out!
