My instrument cluster comes and goes.
sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
Could alternator be the cause.
I had it checked, and he said it checked out fine
but the amperage just around a lot during the test.
Could this be my problem??

Are you sure you don't mean the ammeter or charging light?
The Instrument cluster houses all the gauges.
The cluster is powered through a 14 or 18 pin plug.
This plug has the circuits for all the gauges and cluster lighting.
