non-mod b code spring

i am interested in the v and b code spring swap for my 2002 x powerstroke, can i just do the b code rear springs without modifying the spring pack? Do I replace factory rear block or use larger block ? thanks for any input!

Yes, most just add the spring and then the 4" tappered block to keep the rake the same. Others modify the spring pack so they get away from using the larger block.

With your psd you might want to look at the x or w codes. The v's on the V-10 get you around 2", but on the psd only 1- 1 1/2".

Remember to also get the longer u bolts!

On mine, I first tried the V/non-mod B along with 3.5" tapered block with Bs. I thought the rear of truck was too high (too much rake). I then put the 2" standard block back on and then installed RAS springs on rear. Now, rake appears better (about 3/4" lower in rear than B&3.5" block) and "wander" is less noticeable. I think there is less spring wrap with 2" block and non-mod B rear.
