you will nee to do your whole systam just like above post so you have enough fuel to run both pumps or you will spoil a pump pretty fast..you will need the 5/8 pick up tube that can be had here
ITP 5/8" Fuel Tank Pickup

good question..i think it would need to be on PSI switch after each pump cause if one fails it still has power going to it...

not a bad idea, sounds like a worth wild project. As soon as I have all the materials together including the pumps I'll post it up. I'll also see if I can find a switch.
I'm still unsure as to what pumps to use but I'm seriously considering just using the stock SD pumps.
Now if only I had more money to throw around.........

I dunno, seems every woman gets it every month free of charge, how come mine doesn't come free of charge! I've been ripped off!

The other problem I have is that I have the FRx mod, if I do the fuel bowl delete then I loose my FRx unless I get new lines for that too. Oh!! so many problems. Guess I can cross that road when I come to it and just get the tank modded and work on getting the pumps in then wait for enough cash to delete the bowl and all that fun stuff, maybe I'll just leave the bowl for the heck of it.
OH SO MANY DECISIONS!!!
Guess I'll ponder on it and come up with a game plan. Then again maybe I don't need that after market filter if I just install a regulator after the pump to keep the regulator on the engine from getting to much pressure.
I'll have to get my fuel pressure gauge first before I can get all this other stuff done so I can see my fuel pressure and the pressure drop once I can do the mods, but thanks for all the ideas, sounds like it's time to do some planning.
Thanks everyone too, I still don't know what pump I want to go with but I guess I'll figure it out.

This is going to be the most bas A$$ pump you can get, thats OEM, and a brand name.
It out pumps every walbro and half the aftermarket ones. It can be used submerged, and inline, sucking, and booster. Has threads on both sides as well.
Ill probly get one of these for my truck. Its called the "Bosch 044"

Bosch 044 External Fuel Pump, 300 LPH! 0580254044 NEW!!: eBay Motors (item 310217113271 end time May-30-10 02:51:36 PDT)

LOL, you guys make the decisions so hard. OK, I'll look up the specs and reviews of each. Either way I emailed the guy for that $150 tank mod kit and he replied back basically saying that unless I have fuel thirsty injectors there's no point in having dual pumps when all I have to do is throw a pump behind the seat and swap it out if it fails.
So I'll still put a PSI switch in place to indicate a pump failure but single pump with one on stand by is the route I'll take.
I'll let you know on what I find in regards to the pumps you have recommended.

Something I built

For the most part these motors use little fuel stock. At that even the stock fuel system is weak pressure wise. So anything you can do would help. I had a Fass and it failed me far from home, two times. It was repaired for free, but I lost all faith in it. On the final (yes third) failure @ 20,000 miles I removed it and built my own system. My main concern was pump longevity and adequate fuel supply for future mods. Here's some pictures of my Fuelab system. All parts sourced from ITP and Summit Racing. All AN 10 lines reduced to AN 6 at fuel system ports. Enjoy...

If you really want two pumps connected at the same time, T the fuel infeed. Mount your pumps and connect each from the T. On outfeed side attach a ball valve to each and T back to the OEM line. Use a two way electric toggle switch to power each pump separately. Close one valve and flip the toggle switch to the pump with an open valve. If/when a pump fails, reverse the valve and switch positions and start shopping for another pump.

This is the best thing I've seen yet! Can you tell me more about it? How does it differ? Is it good with diesel? Is it reliable? Stuff like that...

Here's what I wanna know:

Do I need bigger fuel lines to maintain steady pressure at the regulator? I doubt I'll go any bigger than Stage-2's... I just wanna do it up right while I have it apart.

Hmmm... check this out:

Bosch Fuel Pumps

Put the first one in the tank and the second under the floor between filters. I don't have that kinda money. I just need to make sure the pump will pump what I need and more and be able to keep up.

If you look at the flow specs for the Bosch pumps, you will see the lph decrease with an increase in pressure. The Walbro GSL392 is a high presure pump that flows 255 lph at 80 psi while the Bosch 044 flows 200lph at 72.5 psi. You need to look at the flow ratings for each pump at the same pressure to get a real comparison. That 300 lph looks impressive until you see the pressure at which it's rated.
Lower Pressure = Higher Volume
I have a low pressure pump (4 psi) lift pump that flows twice the volume of any of these high pressure pumps.
