im doing a fuel mod right now..im shooting for 500 + HP this winter..so i been doing a lot of searching, reading and asking to end up with my sump and fuel lab...i only want to do this once.....most will tell you rather then a walbro..go dual SD pumps...its a little cheaper then going with the fuel lab or fass pumps..and if one quits the other can still get you home if the mod is done right..
Not finding any negative information regarding the pump and I wouldn't mind running the stock pump if I could sustain the stock PSI at WOT, it didn't cost a arm and a leg and wasn't limited to 450hp. I may or may not run more then 450hp later down the road but seriously! these trucks are SD's! They should have a SD pump that is more then capable for these trucks for every application including high performance.
Anyhow, I just want to be able to maintain a steady fuel flow to both the injectors and to the return and not get ripped off for a stinking pump.
Well that doesn't make any sense considering gas is much thinner and less of a lubercant.
So what would you recommend. Another guy recommended the e2236.
ever see what happends to a gas line rated for gas that has been used on diesel ???
Gotta say Ron, everything I have read so far confirms it a good pump. Will flow more than enough for most injectors and is well priced. Searched "fuel pumps" and "walbro fuel pump". I dont deny that some have had failures but like I said for the price it rocks.
5/8 line from my sump though the 1212 filter though my fuel lab and into my 2 micron down on the frame rail..then 1/2 line going to my ITP fuel delete with DI's RR..from there the return line will be done with 3/8.... my pump can flow 150 GPH at 70 PSI on high speed....60 gph at 40 PSI on low speed without any drop in PSI what so ever... the sump lets fuel flow to the pump by gravity there for the pump will only be pushing fuel..the pump wont work at all trying to suck fuel up and out of the tank there for longer life for the pump and no chance for air...also saves on the cost of a lift pump...

off to work..when i get home ill pm you some links..
I have been using this Bosch pump to pump diesel AND waste vegetable oil for 35,000 miles (and who knows how long it pumped diesel before I bought the truck!) If this pump will pump WVO, it's pretty tough! Especially for $99!
So, are you guys saying as far as reliability goes, the stock Bosch is the way to go? As long as it'll do MORE than keep up with what I may throw at it (I don't inted to go any bigger than Stage-2's), I'm good with it. I was just wondering if there was an equal or better pump for an equal or lesser price than the stock pump. So far, I don't really see so... anybody wanna try again?
Oh I agree and I am thinking of going dual pumps as well so that if a pump fails then I can keep driving until I get it replaced and to maintain 60PSI and maintain the fuel flow in the return line as to try and remove all air from the fuel rails. I want to make my injectors last as long as possible and make my truck as reliable as possible.
I also have heard good things about the walbro pump, and I use them a lot on my gassers. I also use the Bosch 044 (turbo porche pump) pump a lot on high hp turbo cars. ( like supras and dsm cars and mustangs ). They are a tough pump and are rated at the most gph and psi I believe.
I'll be trying one on my truck soon. Gotta do supporting mods before I do hp mods.
What I find odd is there's this late-99 at the body shop and you can't even hear it's pump... AT ALL!!! Mine has what you guys call the "mad bees" drone. Then add that stupid chirping and it's ridiculous! Is it supposed to be that loud?
