Well heres the deal, when i lay into the throttle(but not too hard) ill got upto 3000 RPM and then itll buck, the Rpm bounces from about 2500-3500 when bucking. its erally annoying and i want resolution. Btw mine is an 86 2.9 auto. i thought it was the fuel filter but it wasnt. HELP!!!!!!

the part is confusing me is the check engine light is off, and when not in gear it can hit 5k RPM just fine, but when in gear it struggles. ill go ahead and get the scanner and c if anything comes up. How would i ckeck fuel pressure? btw i shoulda added its not that bad only about 400 rpm bounce.

The difference is the truck is under load when it happpens. You would need a fuel pressure gauge and I would check it when the problem happen. You will have to be careful to make sure nothing gets into anything moving. There is a valve on the fuel rail were you connect the gauge.
