V10 engine fan removal

I have 2004 V10 550 ford engine. Can someone tell me how to get the fan off?

You need a special wrench from local auto parts store. I bought one several years ago for my 2000 V8. Cost around $20 I believe. It is a two part set...one long wrench and a short one that attaches to a rachet. One hold the fan from turning when you break the fan loose with the other one.

You can also use a long handled chisel and a hammer....put the chiselon the edge of the nut in the direction you want to go and give it a few good wacks. Once it breaks loose you will be able to spin it off by hand.
