Any opinions on a $120.00 code reader? It doesn't look like there are extra chips for the different manufactures. I'm wondering if it would work well on a Subaru as well as the Ford.
Sure would be nice to fix check engine lights myself.
Well, it doesn't look like it can get codes that may be there from the other modules that do not throw a CEL. So that's going to be the biggest negative to it, but then again it just depends on extensive you want it to be. I wouldn't see why it wouldn't work for multiple vehicles, so you should be covered there, it's just the extensive "enhanced" abilities that aren't going to be there, but that depends on how much you are trying to accomplish.

Not familiar with that term except with regard to performance "chips". I have extra licenses for the AE software(4 of them) and only one required a specialty mongoose for it to get the enhanced ability. If I was just doing general code reading, they would have all used the same hookup.
