OTC 3109 Scan Tool

My v10 has a slight but annoying miss. No MIL is indicated and when I connect it to a cheap DTC reader and get the P1000 Testing Incomplete. Tried as best as possible to clear the P1000 but some of the driving parameters are damn near impossible here in the winding hills. I understand that Fords log misfire codes but it takes a better scanner to read them. I'm looking at the OTC 3109 but am unsure if this will give me what I need. It says it reads live data and manufacturer enhanced codes. Will this give me the misfire information so I can track down this miss? Check the emissions label under the hood and see if your unidentified SD is OBDI or OBDII. If OBDI, the available data is pretty limited to the scan tool including no misfire counters.
