EXPLORER GOOD AS F150?
Hey, been driving F150s for a dozen years, and need a second vehicle for the Mrs. Thinking about an Escape or Explorer, maybe 1 or 2 years old.
Are these as reliable as the F150, and are there certain models/motors/years to stay away from?

I believe the Explorers and Mountaineers are just full bodied Rangers. The Expedition or Navigator would be the closest to the F150s.

Our 07 Explorer is flawless.
4.0 engine runs very smoothly and the auto transmission runs great.
The 4.0 is great for our needs but the V8 would haul 7 passengers better.
Look for a current generation Explorer with low miles.
We have an 05 AWD/4WD Escape, but I prefer the part time 4WD system on the Explorer better.
