I'm gonna ask a question about the cheap spark plugs,If I go down to the local "skippy do auto parts" and ask for cheap copper plugs for my application, they are gonna think I'm crazy...So are there a part number anyone knows for the 5.8? Or are the cheapest plugs I can get the copper plugs that your referring too..
The wires that were on the truck were some no-name brand when I bought it. The ones I put on last week were FMS 9mm's to go with the MSD cap/rotor and coil pack I put in (all came from summit because they are a one day ship from me).
I'm just speculating that the minor improvement from the whole thing might be due to the relatively new equipment that I was replacing.

24's or 25's will work. The easiest thing to do it just tell them what you drive and say you want autolites. Then they should give you a few options, ask for the coppers.
I asked for copper autolites for my truck and they said all they had was platinums and a "resistor" plug. I asked em what model the "resistor" was and they said it was a 24. I said "well those are copper so give em to me".
I beleive 25 is classically for 302's and 24's are for 351's. But I doubt it matters.

Oh hell yeah, on both accounts. But now that you have put the new.better stuff on, perhaps you should put some miles on her for a week or two before segueing into the whole 6LTU?---just so the ECU/PCM thingys don't get confused with too much new info?....

That's my official reason for not doing the timing bump yet. But unofficially, I've gotta wait till I can have someone else on hand that's done timing before to take out a little of the guesswork.
Timing is pretty much point and shoot with the light and making sure the little needle is on the right notch when the light is on that is an over simplification but true
Yeah. I understand the procedure in theory. I'd just like to have someone hit me on the back of the head before I screw something up. Reading on FSB, I've seen guys count 10BTDC as 0 and go a total of 23.5 degrees over. Just paranoid I guess.
I don't even know if my timing light works. My dad has had it in his garage for years because one of his old employees left it here.
Maybe this should say "Even SOME Wal Marts ...". Everyone had #25s for the 302 but it took 4 stores before I found 4 2-packs of the #24s I needed for the 351.
