Axles

What axles are in the 1999 (or newer ) Ford diesel trucks?
Ad says they're one tons? I don't know. Craigslist for $500. Says to make an offer.

Think they're worth reselling?
What are they worth?

Pretty much all the information I have...
Thanks.

80% chance its a D50 front. At some point they started mixing in some D60s but Im not sure exactly when. By '04 they were all 60s. Regardless its a BJ axle with unit bearings and crappy metric bolt spacing. The rear is most positively a Sterling 10.5" if its SRW.

yeah, if it is a dually it will be a crappy 60 front, and a sterling 10.5 or a dana 80. if it's a f450 the rear might be a d135 or something along those lines

Why is the dually 60 crap? Other than the obvious unit bearings?

Unit bearings and metric pattern is a plight of all the SD axles. As far as the hubs go you have to change them on the older style to shorten them also.

and that's why people buy single rear wheel 60's. it's fun when you answer your own questions. why would someone buy a basically useless axle? unless you have a s/d with a dana50 it isn't worth chit to anyone really

Your thought process makes my head hurt. If a DRW axle is cheaper and you can get SRW hubs then you are good to go. Doesnt make them any less usuable.

Actually the axles may be sold for $1000.
Winch already sold for $500.
The engine for $350
Hard top for $300
Tires for $400
Flatbed might be sold for $400.

I am almost constantly buying and selling vehicles or vehicle parts. Don't question me lol.
I have acres to store my junk. And I just cleared a whole lot of room to fit more!

Anyways, thanks for the information guys. I think i'll pass on this one.
