Question/Request for Pics Measurements COE
Many of you have seen my Introduction thread for my 1948/49 Ford COE F-5, and I need to thank ya'll for all the great input and advice.
I have one disadvantage I work Overseas/Away from home. Right now I am only 150 miles from the shop so can go every weekend (for now atleast).
For some planning and research purposes does anyone have good pics and measuremetns of the cab mounting subframe structure for these trucks?

That helps alot, now I have an idea and just need the basic footprint dim. if anyone has that or can pull a tape on one. that is off the frame.
What book does that come from? Need to purchase one if I can.

It's out of the Chassis Manual. There were several versions. I suspect there were versions from 48 to 51, but the one I find most helpful is dated 1/52. I like it because it includes all parts numbered as they were when the trucks was new. There is also a 1/54 edition and a 1964 reprint edition that covers 48-56. The '64 can be purchased new from any of the prominant parts suppliers. One big drawback to the '64 reprint is the fact that it dropped parts that were NLA, or that had been combined with other parts for wider application. As a general guide, though, it's fine. You can find used copies of each pretty regularly on eBay also. Stu

A COE will fit a 48 to 52 F-1 frame with no problem . the sub frame of the coe fits right on but if you can get a P30 step van it wider .
