Thanks for the picture. I like pictures, sometime the descriptions just don't do it for me. LI will call the dealer tomorrow and try to locate one here in town.

Does the new master cylinder include the locking plastic bushing to connect pushrod to pedal belcrank?

No, it does not. Must be another part I need to buy then.

I ask because it is STUPID expensive from the dealer, BUT Dorman sells it as part of an assortment.
I have posted the part number before. Let me see if I can dig it up.

Dorman 14041 ,

Be sure to put it in the hole first and then snap the ball in, otherwise you'll destroy it. (do you need to ask.....?)

You say you like pictures....it is on the bottom.

Cool Still the same

Well, well, well. Between work, life and rain I finally got the master cyl in and working. I can tell a difference in how it shifts and in the pedal. BUT I still have the same damn problem. I drive about 3 blocks beautifully, and then I let out the clutch slowly and GRIND! I tried the pump up the pedal thing someone suggested, no to no avail.
Here is the list of new parts on the tranny. THE TRANN, THROW OUT BEARING, SLAVE CYL and PUSH ROD, NEW LINE and MASTER CYL, and I have to replace the STARTER too.
I guess the only thing left is to replace the clutch plate?
This truck needs a expert!!!!!!

I need to do that yet.
Would that make this happen?
Like I said I drive fine for about 3 - 4 blocks and then it's all over.

Yeah. it's weird that it works for a little while, but you are not getting the full benefit of the clutch while it is still flexing. Possible that as it warms up, it is just making it worse.

And what makes it STOP grinding? How do you deal with/fix the situation?

Sounds to me like after he drives a bit it grinds when he tries to shift, that is, move the shifter into a gear. Fix the firewall. Also, have a friend push the clutch pedal when it's cool and the clutch will work normally, feel and watch the master cylinder for movement.

Yea I get to drive about 3-4 blocks and it shifts just fine. Then, I let the clutch out into first, then grind, second grind, 3rd 4th- reverse. I sat in the street today for about 10 min shifting from gear to gear letting out the pedal very slowly to see if it will grind and finally I got it to catch into 1st, and drove home about 3 blocks in first gear, as to not lose the connection. It even went into reverse for me so I could back it into the garage..

I put the new master cyl on Sunday. Before I had to bleed it to make it stop grinding so I could get a shift or =2 out of it. Today I just played around for a few minutes and I got it to catch.

Well sort of.... I get to put it into gear and let out the pedal and I get the grinding.
Someone told me to change the clutch plate and pressure plate. I did not put them in because the guy I got the truck from put a new one in before I got the truck....... But just to make the *entire system* all new I can do that. I just hate to keep spending money and not getting this problem fixed. So far I have replace everything from the motor to the transfercase except the clutch plate and pressure plate..
