Any troubles with frequent tune changing??

I am not sure if this question has really been asked or not. I have a SCT Xcal 3 with custom tunes from Spartan. Matt did this for me in the fall of '07. I don't have any issues with the 3 tunes (mild street, heavy tow, and Hybrid Race). I only use the Mild street and heavy tow tunes. Here lately I have been towing quite a few loads over 10k. I remember Matt said not to tow over 6k or 8k on mild street and to use the heavy tow tune. I am wondering if there is any potential for damage due to switching back and forth frequently?? Thanks for the help.

No. You can reflash the PCM more than 100K times with no problems. That's probably more than you can do in the life of the truck.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. Is there still a database of Matt's tunes that are downloadable?? I thought you were the one that posted it a year ago or so.

From what I understand it depends on when you last updated the firmware in your SCT as to whether his tunes will work anymore. I do not know of or have a copy of the 05 and up tunes, but I'm sure it's floating around somewhere.

I haven't updated my tuner ever. Thing is kind of foreign to me, lol. I was also wondering on my mild street has the letter eeeeeeee across the screen in the middle when I select it??

I would think excessive re-tuning could affect the transmission since it has to relearn shifts every time. Why not just leave the tow tune on it?
