Battery Tender

Any one suggest a good Battery Tender setup (to much short trip daily driving going on lately and my batteries hate me). Wanting to just run the 110 plug down to the block heater location. Probally go for once or twice a week. Thanks

Battery Tender "Deltran" sells a unit that is waterproof. I think it has .8 amps of output. You could put some cable ties to attach it to something under the hood. It is a higher $$$ than others but it is mad for outside use. Search Amazon for Battery Tender 800. I have 5 of the Standard BT's after buying a new ATV battery for over $90 to only have it go bad in less than 7 months. Luckily it was under the 1 year warranty and was replaced free. I have a 88 Mustang that has had a BT on it and that battery is over 12 years old. Starts every time and no heavy pull on the Alt.

I keep two BTs in almost constant use. Rather that mount the chargers onboard I used 2 pole conectors(available at any parts store) that match those that are supplied with Battery Tenders to make interchangable hook up cords. On the trucks and 2 atvs I use a lighter plug. On a utv that doesn't have a lighter and a tractor with a cover over the battery I permanantly mounted a cord to the battery + and frame and use a 2 pole conector at the other end. Everything else is easy to use the clamp cord on. I give credit to the tenders for having very good service from batteries.

Thanks guys studied up on it a little and think I also going to scratch the on board and get a unit I can use for multiple purposes. Kinda like da-bees going to have everything rigged on the truck so I can just plug it in with their 25 quick connect cord.
