I encountered a weird problem with my BII this morning. When I started it, The bell dinged like it always does for seat belt and then shut off, but this morning it didnt shut off, and won't shut off.
I have no switch in my seatbelt,( the buckle has been replaced, and the junk yard i was at only had passenger side ones left) but i never had a problem with this before, it used to always ding for 15 sec or so and then stop. i tried connecting the two wires for this conector thinking maybe it sundleny decided it wanted to know the seatbelt was on, but this didnt stop the ringing. I finally located the bell its self, up behind the glove box. Weird thing is i expected it to have like two conectors on it but it actually has 7. 4 wide pins on the bottom row, and then 2 wide ones on top and a narower one.
I like haveing the bell to remind me that the headlights are on and key in ignition and stuff, but I dont want it ringing all the time. I need to know what can be done to make it stop ringing for seatbelt only. I am assumeing its for the seatbelt, is there any other reson it would ring continuosly??
Thanks for any help you can give me on this.
If anyone has a wiring diagram for this I would be interested in seeing that, as it could tell me what each wire does, and then maybe i can troubleshoot a little more. I opened the bell casing up and the board is full of resitors, capcitors, diodes, and one chip, and a couple of green sqaure things i dont know what they are!
