I finally got around to snapping a few pictures of the 2002 Excursion I just bought. We have REALLY enjoyed it the first few days. I just filled the tank completely for the first time....didn't enjoy that, but I did manage to get 17.7 on the lie-o-meter in 50/50 highway/city driving. Hopefully when I get the 6637 in there I'll notice some more pep, etc.
First mod I'm going to do (someone already cut the Zoodad) is going to be a combination of the 6637 filter (riff-raff kit) and a 3 gauge kit for the a-pillar.
Anyone have any recommendations for the gauge kit? I was considering buying the 3 meters (pyro, trans, and boost) on Ebay as the prices are considerably less, but I don't know if that would be the same gauges I'd get in a "kit" from one of the diesel sites.
Nice X!! Looks like you ahve the same problem as I do...doesn't fit in that garage does it? I've washed mine twice in the two weeks I've had it becasue of the birds (and I NEVER wash my trucks...LOL).
I went about 3 hours away up to Pennsylvania to find it, all in all, not a bad trip. The Excursions in DC were all way too expensive, and there were not many 7.3's around here. I still probably paid too much, but such is life.
As for the Garage, it probably won't fit...but I don't care much because the garage is so full of other crap anyway.
Oh it will fit in the garage, just get a good run up the driveway .
I looked for five months before finding mine and when I did it was in Alexandria.
Nice truck! I's steer clear of the cheap ebay gauges, I've heard they're inconsistant. Look into DiPricol, Isspro, and Autometer. Once you get those installed, do the 6637 like you said, 4" exhaust, and a custom tuned chip. You'll think you were in a 2,000lb V8 truck after that.
I got my ISSPro from dieselmanor dot com. Those gauges match the Ford look and feel, with the orange hands, black face, and green light cover. Very close match, and great gauges.
Nice looking Ex. What is the mileage and how much did you pay?
I have the Riff Raff 6637 kit coming in the mail as we speak. I'm trying to find the cheapest deal on the gauges. I AM NOT going to buy cheap kit on Ebay. Most likely I'm going to purchase the 3 autometer gauges on Ebay separate from the moulding piece....I can get all 3 gauges for less than $200.
Diesel manor and Dp Tuner do not paint the pillar piece...should I try to locate a painted one or is that spray paint good enough?
Truck has 92500 or so miles on it, and I paid less than $20K for it, but that was probably still too much. I'm ok with that though, as the wife loves it and the kids now have more than their share of room to spare.

The paint works well and looks factory. I think I bought mine from Diesel Manor.
My spray painted pillar,

LOL...Busted......hate it when that happens...remember Joe, location plays into the selling price of a vehicle. I paid $19,900 for my '04 6.0L PSD with 120k miles and felt I got a good deal. If I could have found with less than 100k miles for that prices I would have been PUMPED!
